We are worthy of that shit TODAY, ladies.
I don’t give a damn what anyone else tells us.
Or what the story is that we are telling ourselves.

We are f’n worthy.

PERIOD.💁🏼‍♀️


Yes, even with the 45 pounds we want to lose.
Or the thighs that make 🔥 when we do high knees (legit, me during my workout today).
Yes, even with the lose skin. The rolls. And the stretch-marks.

When we learn to stop beating the shit out of ourselves, we can live NOW. We can lay off the pressure to get to the next version of us so damn fast. Pump the brakes, ladies!🛑

We tell ourselves, “I will do (insert what you’re avoiding in life right now) when I feel better about myself.”

That’s us, putting our lives on hold bc we think we will be worthy of living once we hit our goals or become some other version of us.🙅🏼‍♀️

We gotta work on changing the story we are telling ourselves NOW…not WHEN we get to the other side. We have to stop being so damn hard on ourselves & learn to accept who we are in this moment. In this body.

And bc I like you, I’ll give you a little tip: Your thoughts are the only thing holding you back from loving the shit out of yourself RIGHT NOW. NOT your body. And you my friend, are in control of those thoughts. 🤯

Taco Bowls are LIFE

If you know me, you know I could eat some form of Mexican food on the daily.

And that I am also all about simple meals. I don’t want 10,000 ingredients or something that is going to take forever to cook. HEAT & EAT, please!

But before we can heat & eat, we gotta do the prep…trust me, prep sounds like a lot of work. It can be BUT not if you do it right! Plus, think of how those couple of hours in the kitchen on your “prep day” make for a much more relaxed week!

First let’s talk tips, then we can chat how to make this meal & dig in!

Here are some tips….

  • When you’re cooking protein like this, always double it. Hell, triple it if you want. But cooking 1 lb at a time is just plain SILLY! I always do AT LEAST 2 lbs. This is the perfect kind of protein to throw in the freezer. So then not only are you cooking protein for the current week but also for throughout the month!

  • Buy things already prepared, if you can.

    • I buy a large frozen bag of cauliflower rice from Costco, it has individually wrapped bags in it to heat & eat (you getting the theme here). Then I always have some on hand when I am in a pinch for veggies!

    • My brown rice (if you prefer brown rice over the beans in the dish) comes from Trader Joe’s. It is 3 packages individually wrapped, you microwave it for 3 minutes and you have PERFECTLY cooked rice. Something I could NEVER do on a stove top.

    • I buy premade guac, too. The mini WHOLLY Guacamole ones from Costco are good because those serve one. OR my favorite, that taste the most authentic guac is Herdez. I buy the smaller container (usually 2 at a time) & I don’t tear the plastic all the way off under the lid, I feel like that keeps in the freshness. If I need to skim off the brown on the top the next day, no biggie!

    • Peppers! Those are also bought in bulk at Costco & cut up on prep day! I do NOT grill all of them at once roughly 1/2 of them. They tend to get soggy after 3-4 days. Once the grilled ones are used up, I grill the rest!

  • I keep the staples on hand for taco bowls because even if I don’t have fresh peppers or guac to throw in it, I can still make a damn good meal with the rest of the ingredients, especially if I am keeping my freezer stocked with extra servings of taco meat!

    • Beans or rice (or both), cauliflower rice & cheese. Those are kitchen staples, am I right?!

And if you are wanting to make this family friendly, just grab some taco shells for the kiddos!

Ok enough small talk…here is what you REALLY came here for, the recipe:


What you need for the meat (makes about 7-8 servings): 
2 lb 93/7 Lean Ground Beef or Lean Turkey
2 tbsp of Southwest Seasoning (see below) 
1 can diced tomatoes w/ peppers (rotel) 
1/3 cup water

The rest:
Trader Joe’s Refried Black Beans w/ Jalapeño or Brown Rice
Cauliflower Rice
Assorted Bell Peppers
Shredded Cheese
Guacamole or Avocado
Jalapeño Sauce (optional)



Southwest Seasoning (I use this shit on EVERYTHING)

2 tbsp chili powder
4 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp coriander
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp sea salt
Mix all the seasonings together and put in a sealed container, it should make enough to have some left for other recipes! It is really great on anything, I use it in my burgers too! 


Instructions: 
1. Cook the meat until no longer pink (be sure to chop it up or crumble). 
2. Drain, although w/ the lean I buy there is never much to drain
3. Add in water, rotel & seasoning, mix well.
4. Let it simmer until water is gone. Usually about 10 minutes. 
5. Portion out 3/4 cup meat into individual containers.
(Store in the freezer 2-3 months or the fridge for 3-4 days.)

Here is how I assemble my “bowl”… 
1/2 cup beans
3/4 cup grilled peppers
3/4 cup cauliflower rice
3/4 cup taco meat
1/4 cup guac & cheese (mostly guac w/ a sprinkle of cheese)
Then for good measure & I because I like a little kick, I add some Trader Joe’s Jalapeño Sauce on top!

What is my BOD jam?!

…it is NOT easy to pick a workout program when you have the NETFLIX OF FITNESS at your fingertips. Am I right?!

Maybe you are like, “Ashley, back it up, WTF is BOD?” Check it out.

BOD = Beachbody On Demand. It is how I have worked out consistently for the last 5+ years. I press play at home. In a condo/house at on vacation. Outside. On a cruise ship. In a hotel room. Even at the hotel gym if my room is not an option. Anywhere, really. And I do workouts lead by certified master trainers who kickass at what they do. They lead me through EVERY single workout along with a cast/crew. And there are like 1000 workouts to pick from! Plus more being added on the regular.

Not only do we just have workouts, we have programs that you can commit to in order to get a specific results. They range anywhere from 21-90 days. And you can do them as many times as you like!

Ok, so back to the real question here. How do you know which exercise program is right for you?

1. No program is one size fits all so what others love, you may not like! But I have shared some GREAT feedback from my current online “FitCampers” below!
2. What you think YOU would enjoy, you don’t want to dread pushing play each day!
3. What is your current fitness level?
4. What are your goals?
5. A TON of people I have helped have started with 21 Day Fix. That is what completely changed the game for me in 2015. I modified when I needed to…KAT (the modifier) was my bestie! And I did MULTIPLE rounds of it until I was ready to move on. 30 minutes a day. 7 days a week. 21 days. Great way to get started if you REALLY can’t decide.
6. Last but definitely not least, TALK TO YOUR COACH! And if you don’t have one, see below.

What program do I love?
Right now, as I type this at 4pm on 8/28/2020, #MBF & #MBFA hands down is my top fave. So many amazing moves, asymmetrical & symmetrical training which is new to me! It is a great challenge AND it (along with UPF) has sculpted my body in a way I never thought was possible! The trainer is great with cueing. It is overall an awesome program.

But I, like so many of the people I have helped have programs we love for different reasons and seasons! I am ALWAYS a fan of our MMA or boxing programs too (Core de Force or 10 Rounds), those make me feel like a TOTAL BADASS.

Here is some HONEST feedback from the amazing challengers in my current online “FITCAMP":

  • I cannot pick a favorite! But here are my tops and why- 21 day fix for showing me Beachbody works, 80 day because I saw amazing results, LIIFT4 because I was able to commit and see results with moving/traveling, T20 because he's so inspiring and energetic, the work because it's so challenging but doable, Barre because it's deceptively challenging (I really miss it). But I've got to say I'll be doing another round of MBFA after this because the length is good and the results are crazy. I've never seen my abs like this. I'm not prancing around in a crop top or anything, but one week in and I'm seeing changes. -AM

  • I loved CDF (Core de Force), it was the program that really hooked me in and I saw the best results durning my first two rounds of it! -SC

  • I don't have a favorite because they all are my favorite at the time! Even the one's I don't particularly care for, have taught me to never quit. 80DO changed everything about me including my mind and discipline with food. The Work taught me I could do anything I put my mind to. 10 rounds was amazing and made me lift heavier than I ever have. I could go on and on with every program I've done! They all are amazing ❣️-MM

  • I haven’t finished this program (#MBF) and I feel like it’s going to take place of my current favorite which is 21 DFX. It’s the program I started Beachbody with and it helped change my lifestyle with portion control and learning what the best foods are!! -WC

  • I don’t have a fav either!! 21 Day Fix got me in and hooked, LIIFT4 showed me strength, 10 Rounds made me feel bad ass and though I didn’t lose weight I toned a ton, The Work tested new limits physically with endurance and crazy ass moves, and I’m really liking #MBF right now. I feel all the programs are amazing for diff stages of life and abilities .-CW

  • My all time favorite program is LIIFT4! Love! Short workouts. Lots of results. Only 4 scheduled workouts a week. -HS

  • I don't think I can pick 1 program that's my fav, each one has taught me something different, but 80 day Obsession is what showed me I was capable of way more than I thought. -NS

  • I would say 80 day obsession because it kept me SO motivated! And for a long period of time! I looked awesome and felt awesome! #mbf is coming in at a close 2nd! -SA

  • For me its gotta be 80DO. I got the most amazing results, I was in great shape & I was confident in my skin! -LR

  • 80DO is what I consider my “soul sister” program for sure! But I really loved MM100 too. It made me like cardio, which is a feat. My results were AWESOME and I left almost every workout feeling like a freaking badass. -BW

  • I was wondering if, once i finished #MBF, I would love #MBF as much as 10 Rounds. I really liked 10 Rounds and I do really like Megan (#MBF) as a trainer. -CL

  • I loved 80 Day Obsession! 2 years ago it really helped me get stronger and lose weight without relying on cardio/jumping! It was all about the core - I'm excited to get back to it after a couple rounds of 21df. -SK

  • Def loving this program (#MBF). 80DO pushed me outside of my comfort zone and scared me, and I loved LIIFT4 too. -KT

  • I love barre the best so far because it’s easy on my back! And it’s the first program I’ve finished!!-EL

  • LIIFT4 is definitely one of my favorites. I have really enjoyed MM100 also, love the shorter workouts and the challenge of a long program, I feel like it’s really helped with my endurance and I’m feeling strong. 💪-MT

  • I’m really liking the short workouts of #MBF and they go by fast! I agree with most everyone else, LIIFT4 and 80DO are my fave workouts. LIIFT4 because only 4 days and shorter but I got great results with 80DO just hard committing to hour everyday.-KS

Because of #MBF....

I mooned my dad in the ocean on vacation.

When I was rushing around packing for a VERY last minute invite to a house my parents were renting in Florida, I had concerns that my bikini might fit me different from my actual (planned) family vacation 3 weeks before. But anytime a wave hit, I had to hold on to my bottoms. Eek!!

I mean, your bikini bottoms being too big is not a terrible problem to have...

It is 3 weeks between these pictures.

The week we got home from FL in July, I committed to #MBF with my online group that I run & the day I finished it, I left (again, on a whim) to stay with my parents.

I feel damn good, too!
But this is a “new” different kind of good.

And it is not about the scale.
That changed 1 pound between these 2 pics.
If I relied on that alone on this journey, I would be screwed.

It is a new found confidence because I am…
✨lifting heavier
✨gaining core strength
✨challenging myself on a whole new level
✨losing body fat that would NOT budge before
✨seeing changes in my body that are new to me…

All w/ my workouts at home that were 35 min & under.
And of course, superfoods daily + tightening the leash on my nutrition without depriving myself of LIFE.
Ya know, dinner out, drinks, dessert. Balance.

Here is the thing - 35 minutes is DOABLE.
Especially w/ life being ALL over for many of us right now.

We are all just busy moms/dads trying to work, “teach” our kids & keep our heads above water…

We are all in this together.

In order to show up as the parent I need to be for my kids right now, I can’t lose focus on ME FIRST.
Yep. You read that right. It is ok & actually a must to make time for yourself.
To workout.
To make SIMPLE healthy meals.
To pick up a good book or listen to a podcast to get yo’ mind right.

If you are running on E, mama, you MUST fill your own tank back up so you can keep driving the crazy train we are on!

In my group, we focus on ALL of that while keeping you accountable to your goals.

I get it.

You’re quick to list all of your flaws.
I get it. But you are a mama, whose body carried babies & is strong AF.

You look around at others & you compare.
I get it. But comparison a is a quick way to forget how amazing your own body is & all that it has done for you.

You feel like there is no way you could, EVER.
I get it. But you can. Confidence looks damn good on you.

You feel less than because you are hung up on your imperfections.
But that is the beauty of it, you are perfectly imperfect. You are you. And just as you should be.

And you deserve to feel good in WHATEVER you want to put on, including the two piece.
Self confidence is the best outfit. Rock that shit.🙌🏼
